About ClusterCollie AI
ClusterCollie AI is a growing family of AI-assisted tools for Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) environments, developed by Project Research LLC.
The Purpose
Data center and infrastructure teams running Nutanix clusters need to answer recurring questions: how much runway is left, how do we automate provisioning safely, and are we actually compliant with security baselines? ClusterCollie AI was built to answer these questions quantitatively and consistently, rather than by intuition or manual spreadsheet work.
The Logic and Reasoning
Each tool in the ClusterCollie AI family applies a similar pattern: pull real data or context from the Nutanix platform (Prism Central APIs, the Nutanix MCP server, or the official Ansible collection), ground any AI-generated output in that real context rather than letting a model guess, and add a validation or human-review layer before results are treated as final.
Why "ClusterCollie"?
Border collies are working dogs bred for herding — they watch the whole flock, anticipate where it's drifting, and nudge it back before it scatters. That's the same job these tools do for Nutanix infrastructure: watching trends, configurations, and automation tasks, and flagging drift before it becomes a problem.

An AI-assisted Ansible playbook generator for Nutanix. Describe an infrastructure task in plain English and receive a validated playbook grounded in the official nutanix.ncp collection, automatically checked with ansible-playbook --syntax-check before it's presented for review.
ClusterCollie AI Security & Compliance Tool
A read-only Nutanix cluster compliance scanner that checks configuration against a security baseline (Flow policies, credential rotation, AHV host exposure) and uses an LLM to translate findings into governance-friendly language mapped loosely to CIS Benchmarks and NIST SP 800-53.
Connection to Nutanix
All ClusterCollie AI tools are independent, third-party projects designed to work alongside the Nutanix platform — via the Prism Central REST API, the Nutanix Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, and/or the official nutanix.ncp Ansible collection. They are built by a Nutanix-certified practitioner (NCA, NCP-MCI, NCP-CI-AWS) holding CompTIA Security+, as portfolio and productivity projects. These tools are not official Nutanix products, are not developed by Nutanix, Inc., and are not endorsed by or affiliated with Nutanix in any capacity.
